Cabana Voicu is a rustic cabin in Săticu de Sus, Rucăr, near Piatra Craiului National Park. The entire cabin accommodates 8–10 guests.
The first floor has 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. The ground floor has a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen and a living room with a wood-burning fireplace, sofa bed, relaxation area and dining area.
A wood-fired boiler provides heating and hot water. Firewood is provided by the house and included in the accommodation price at no extra charge.
The terrace hot tub has air jets and an automatic heating system, offering relaxation for up to 6 people. Enjoy the barbecue and outdoor dining area in the yard, and the campfire area. Hiking routes and suggested walks
Zăplaz – La Om Peak
The classic approach from Plaiul Foii passes Zăplaz and the La Lanțuri route. This demanding ascent includes exposed sections and requires experienced hikers. Approximate duration: 6–8 hours.
Prăpăstiile Zărneștilor gorge
Walk between limestone walls from the Zărnești area. Timing depends on parking and the chosen turnaround point. Continuing into the mountains can increase difficulty. Travel from Sătic to the trailhead is separate; check current driving time in Google Maps.
Curmătura Cabin and the Crăpătura area
Curmătura is a landmark for forest hikes and ridge approaches. Choose a marked route from the Zărnești area and assess the section towards Șaua Crăpăturii separately. Families should adapt the itinerary to their children’s age and fitness. Transfers from Sătic are not included.
La Om / Piscul Baciului Peak — 2,238 m
Piatra Craiului’s highest summit is also the destination of the Zăplaz ascent above. Several approaches exist; a 5–7-hour estimate cannot cover every itinerary. Plan both ascent and descent without assuming a marked trail leads directly back to the cabin.
A walk beside the Dâmbovița River
Explore accessible riverbanks and the scenery around Săticu de Sus for a quiet morning close to the cabin. Avoid water crossings and adjust the distance for children. This is a suggested local walk, rather than a described marked mountain circuit.
Nearby attractions and activities
Piatra Craiului National Park
The limestone ridge, forests and wildlife make the park a destination for hiking and nature watching. Enjoy edelweiss and chamois without disturbing their habitat.
Trout fishing on the Dâmbovița
The river is approximately 50 m from the cabin. Check the river sector, permits and closed seasons before fishing; proximity to the water does not mean unrestricted fishing access.
Mountain biking, ATV and horse riding
Ask your host for local operators and confirm permitted routes. ATVs cannot enter park areas where motorised access is prohibited.
Rucăr and the Bran–Rucăr–Câmpulung road
A scenic drive through the Rucăr–Bran corridor adds villages, landscapes and historical sights to your stay. Confirm the name and access of any attraction advertised as “Rucăr Fortress” before visiting.
Ask your host about the children’s motocross centre approximately 300 m away. Confirm opening hours and bookings with the operator.

Choose the trailhead, marked route and return option first. Timings are approximate, depend on pace, weather and itinerary, and exclude transfers from the cabin. Check trail conditions and carry hiking footwear, water, layers and a map. Seek advice from a mountain guide or mountain rescue service for difficult routes.
